Jessica Kane has always had a love of children and a desire to help those who have faced hardship, tragedy, and pain. Jessica started her career as a school guidance counselor and a licensed therapist specifically so she could help children in need find a positive way forward. This often included counseling, crisis intervention, grief counseling, and more.
Jessica then went on to become a paralegal at the Law Offices of Samuel Kane, where she saw the suffering and pain that came with personal injury and tragic loss, especially when children and families were involved. This inspired her to earn her Juris Doctorate from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law, becoming an attorney so she could help families get compensation and, eventually, closure. Her experience with children and the ways in which they process trauma help inform her approach to clients, especially minors and their families.
Along with personal injury cases involving minors, Jessica has also successfully tackled cases involving active military and veterans, as well as wrongful death suits. Her clients appreciate her patience and compassion in the most difficult moments, paired with an unwavering determination when pursuing justice on their behalf.
Outside of her law practice, Jessica is an avid “rim-to-rim” hiker, marathon runner, and a mother to five wonderful children. Her dream is to grow the practice so that it “runs like a big firm, but is personal like a small one.” Her patience and compassion when working with clients is matched only by her tenacity and determination when fighting for their cause.
In a crash between a car and a semi-truck, it’s no surprise which vehicle will suffer more damage—and which driver is likely to sustain more serious injuries. After all, a loaded semi-truck can weigh up to 80,000 pounds by law, compared to a car’s 4,000. And even an empty truck can average 25,000-35,000 pounds. It […]
Navigating the aftermath of a personal injury can be overwhelming. You might need a lawyer to handle the legal case while you work on the medical, financial, and emotional aspects of loss. However, not all legal representation is created equal, and certain warning signs can indicate a less-than-ideal fit for your needs. To help you […]
You’ve sustained personal injuries in an accident—the last thing you should have to worry about is your attorney’s intentions. Sadly, not every car accident lawyer is looking out for their client’s best interest. From being tone-deaf to people’s misfortune, to downright predatory marketing, these attorneys fit the stereotype of ambulance chasers. At Kane Personal Injury, […]
Imagine the following scenario: You have a young, curious child who’s always getting into things they shouldn’t be. One day, you lose track of them for a second, only to discover that they’ve trespassed onto someone else’s property and seriously injured themselves. You might think you were liable for the accident—after all, trespassing is a […]
Of the 2,400 dog attacks that happen every day in the U.S., half of them involve a child bitten by a dog. Not only is such an ordeal traumatic for the child, but it’s also scary and stressful for parents. The most important thing to know is that a dog bite is never a child’s […]
According to Rule 1.4 of the American Bar Association, lawyers should promptly inform clients about decisions requiring their consent, and keep clients reasonably informed about the status of their cases. But what do “prompt” and “reasonable” really mean? If a client does not hear from their personal injury attorney in days or even weeks, should […]
